SPACE MEDUSA - Facebook Application!
The forthcoming album, 'Light Leaks' is going to be released beginning of 2013. Its first single, Space Medusa, debuts this November. Space Medusa is going to reach fans via a uniquely developed Facebook musicplayer application. In this app, the song is taken apart to separeted tracks on which users can reserve short samples. They can listen to the samples and share them. The full song can only be played after each sample is taken.
Who will be the lucky one who takes the last sample? Who will be the original source spreading the song all over the world wide web?

Zagar does SZIGET
Zagar will perform with three different set ups at this year's Sziget Festival. You can check the live show of the band on 12th August at probably the best curated stage of all: the A38-Wan2, where they'll play some tunes from their forthcoming album. The following day on 13th August the leader of the band, Balázs Zságer will be playing a 4 hours DJ set at the Vodafone Tower including freshly and soon-to-be released Zagar remixes by such producers as Moonbootica, Terry Lee Brown Jr, Cottonmouth, Eriq Johnson or Amb. Also at the Vodafone stage, he'll perform a special sound-collage he made specifically for this occasion together with the award-winning visual team Kiégő Izzók called 2011 Space Odyssey at 11pm.

Prophet is a Fool single is out now!. The genuine rock song with electro influences which was torn apart and pieced into a headbowing, hip-hop fused gem, by Dj Bootsie. More remixes featured by the Moonbootica, whose remix broadcasted by one of the biggest German dance radio now, the Hamburg based remix-guru Eriq Johnson has previously worked with Zagar on their remix album for the hit song Wings Of Love. The pioneer of the minimal techno, Terry Lee Brown Jr. made a real statement and Sheever took a dark acoustic aproach to the track. Summer Festivals
The Zagar band going to refresh their live setlist with some new tracks and reworks for the summer festivals. They will play most of the biggest Hungarian festivals and they were invited by two Czech Festivals called Colours of Ostrava and Beseda as well. The electro-project called Demon Superior lead by Zságer and his brother Ákos will play at some of festivals also, next time they will be performing at Michael Jackson Tribute 'Thriller Night' at A38 Budapest on June 25. The Zagar band next time will playing at Zöld Pardon on June 30 in Budapest and July 1 at Volt Festival before the AIR.

On 1st of may at Merlin at Hello Cabaret Event debut the Demon Superior wich is a sort of family affair it is based on two members of Zagar Band, Balázs Zságer and his younger brother, Ákos. On their myspace site they claim to be playing renaissance electro which really says it all. Demon Superior create their own postmodern dance music with a refreshingly unique attitude using bits and pieces from the legendary musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Edith Piaf, Falco, Kraftwerk sometimes with soviet child-choir or forgetten Eastern European heroes like Neurotic. The new Zagar album will be released in Hungary in September 2007 by CLS Records. The title of the album is - Cannot Walk Fly Instead -. There will be many featuring singers on it: George Ligeti from the london based The Puzzle and Hungarian UNDERGROUND DIVAS such as Edina Kutzora from the band of Yonderboi, Sena the afro hip-hop MC, Judie Jay from Cas!o Samples, Bori Péterfy from Amorf Ördögök, Enikő Hódosi from the Neo and Juci Németh, the former singer of Anima Sound System. Even the leader of the band, Zságer Balázs will sing a song as well.

Zságer is composing for the Hungarian National Theatre
Balázs Zságer is composing music for a theatre play. This is not the first time for the frontman of the band to submerge the world of the theatre. Years before he had already worked with Isván Znamenak at the Csiky Gergely Theathre, later with Vilmos Vajdai at the TÁP theatre and also at the Kammerspiele in Munich as the keyboard player of Yonderboi.This time he is composing music for Ödön von Horvath: Tales from the Vienna Woods - directed by László Keszég. In the leading roles are: Piroska Molnár, Juli Básti, Attila Kaszás and Dorina Martinovics. The premier will be on the 8th of February at the Hungarian National Theatre.

Magnificent ZAGAR gig at the Polish Opera
The band had been invited to one of the most important Polish contemporary film festivals called the ERA NEW HORIZONS. They were to improvise music for a silent movie made in 1926 and theye have fullfilled there duty with overwhelming success at the Opera House of Wroclaw.The day after they played at the festival club heating the air in the presence of the Director of the Hungarian Culture Institute in Warsaw. The next ZAGAR gig will be on 14th of August at Sziget Festival where the Zagar band will play before the legendary THE ORB.

Zagar among the Cool Brands
The band has been selected to appear in the 2006 issue of CoolBrands a yearbook that was first published in England and has quickly become popular amongst the brand sensitive social and professional circules. Hungary was one of the first countries where it is presented. Coolbrands is put together by an independent committee of the fields experts who selected those special brands that are most likely to represent the "cool" way and feeling of life. The comitee has stated that only the brand capable of transmitting such a groovy feeling are entitled to receive the coolbrands award.
The awards will be handed over durring the event of Coolparty on July the 29th at 8pm at A38 Boat where Zagar will be play as well. The concert will be videorecorded, check out the videos at chello.hu after the gig.

Illés rework alla Zagar
At the end of June will be released the Illés Tribute album (Universal Music Hungary). Illés was a legendary Hungarian band of the 60's, they renewed the Hungarian beat music using traditional folk elements. Besides the noted residents of the Hungarian pop scene, the Zagar band made a rework from an Illés track called Aprroximácó as well. The specialty of the record is, that the producer-keyboarder Balázs Zságer is also singing on it.

Great Success in Russia
The zagar band played at Siberian Khanty-Mansiysk filmfestival and in Moscow at Art Garbage and Café Keks wich are among the most popular clubs there. Both gigs were great succes and was welcomed by the press as well. The best selling daily paper called the Kommercant had colour pages of the band in its Saturday issue at the culture column underlining specifically the 'refined style' of the band`s electronic music. The Russian Romantic Film Festival, the Kinotavr Filmfest starting on the 8th of March will also be inaugurated with zagar music as the soundtrack of the film Szezon\EasternSugar by Ferenc Török.

Balázs Zságer received the Hungarian Film Critics Prize for best soundtrack of the year 2004. The music was made for the movie SZEZON.EASTERN SUGAR. The one million HUF prize was won by video clip maker b.a.l.. For his ?bunny with shotgun? video he used the music of Zagar, more specifically the Bossa Astoria rework by Eric Sumo. Our most favourite klip was made by Patyomkim for Taste of Snow. It is an sophisticated and elaborate work of art however it was only rated for the third place.

Flash Animation Tender - end of third round
The animation portal rajzfilmhu has issued a tender worth 2 million HUF for flash animation short films and videos to go with the music of contemporary Hungarian musicians(Anima Sound System, Bëlga, Kispál és a Borz, Titusz, Mango, Triton, Zagar). Out of the five rounds the third was over on the 15th of September. Most participants have chosen to animate on a Zagar track so hopefully there will be certain works with a good chance to become our video.
